Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (On-Demand)
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer position is responsible for working on multiple tasks concurrently while maintaining high quality standards. The candidate will work closely with other QA staff, development engineers and product management. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for the day to day communication with off-shore quality assurance engineers.
You can also expect to:
- Analyze and review the new release requirements
- Prepare test plans and effort estimates for roadmap planning
- Prepare test cases that appropriately cover the new functionality of the system and permit traceability of quality from specifications
- Execute test cases
- Report on defects using the company's defect tracking system
- Report on quality metrics as defined for the product
- Set goals and tasks for the Off-shore resources aligned with the goals of the product and the release, in collaboration with the Director of Development and the VP of Engineering
- Review the off-shore output for consistency with establish processes and quality of results
- Communicate daily to resolve questions/issues and priorities of the off-shore resources
- Contribute to the creation, maintenance and execution of automated test scripts for system regression and for lead testing.
Qualified candidates must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- Five plus years of experience in Web Development and Software Quality Assurance
- Strong in problem solving and planning ability
- At least 1+ year in leadership capacity
Hands-On Experience with Software Development Processes and Tools:
- Processes: Rational Unified Process, Scrum
- Tools: SVN, Jira, TestComplete, Selenium, HttpUnit, SoapScope
- General: Office productivity tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Mobile computing devices: Windows Mobile, Barcode Scanners
Experience and Comprehensive Knowledge of best practices in Quality Assurance of software products:
- Select the appropriate test approach based on requirements, specifications and product architecture
- Interaction with SW Developers to characterize and diagnose product defects
- Test Automation design and implementation with TestComplete and Selenium
- API based testing with JUnit, SOAPScope or other scripting languages
- Unix/Linux Shell Scripting and commands
- SQL and database fundamentals
