Adding a license number

To add a license number:

Select Inventory>License Numbers. A list of license numbers appears.
Select a warehouse you want to create the license number for. You cannot add a license number in the All warehouses view.

Above the license number list, click Add License #. The Add License # screen appears.
- For Transaction Date, the system automatically selects the current date as the date of record for the creation of the license number and the initial assignment of inventory items to this license. If the date is different, you can change it by clicking in the field and then selecting the calendar icon to the right.
- Under Transacted By, enter the user who will create the license.
Complete the information about the license number:
- A default license number appears in the License # field. You can accept this number, or assign a unique number.
- Enter the License Reference (the owner of the license). (This is optional.)
- To place an item on hold: Select the On Hold? check box, then select a hold reason from the Hold type drop-down.

- Optionally, add inventory items to the license number.
- Down below under License Edit Items, click Add inventory item.
- An Item Search screen appears with a list of all unlicensed inventory items with their quantities. Click the check box for each item you want to add to this license number. Then click OK.
- Under Licensed Qty, indicate the quantity of this inventory item that you want tagged with this license number. The Max Licensable Qty field shows the quantity of this item available to be tagged.
  - If the item master is set to Serial Control: Unique or Closed Container, the Licensed Qty must be set to the entire quantity of the inventory item.
When finished, click Perform Edit to create the license number and add the items to it.
