The Challenge - Devising an Inventory Tracking System
Typically, tracking the thousands of inbound products and parts at the plant can be resource intensive and inaccurate. Since the U.S. business group was receiving items from a German-based supplier, ThyssenKrupp Steel USA faced a unique situation—receiving parts at the plant before the arrival of the actual shipping documents. This made the task of tracking items even more difficult especially in the case of missing or oversupplied parts.
